Frequently asked questions

There’s no set schedule. We advertise jobs as required.

Generally, we practise in personal injury law, family law, wills and estates and commercial law. You can read more about the specific areas of practice by clicking on the links to each section.

Whatever job you’re applying for, we’re looking for ambition, love for what you do and ability to deliver outstanding client service. Teamwork is fundamental to legal practice, so we’ll want to know that you can roll up your sleeves and work with a great bunch of people. A sense of humour also helps.

We try to get back to all applicants within 14 days of the closing date for any advertised job.

This can vary depending on the role, but usually there’s at least one partner as well as our Human Resources & Office Manager who attend each interview. Before your interview, we’ll tell you who will be there.

Have a good look around our website. It will give you an idea of our services, the interests and abilities of our staff and our community work. We’ll want to know all about you: for example, what you like about working in the law and what interests you about working for DBH. But don’t worry. We’re a friendly bunch.

We encourage our staff to develop special interest areas. We’ll do whatever we can to support your development. Let’s have a chat about it at your interview.

Pro bono work is work that we agree to undertake without charging fees to the client. We place a high priority on our community service activities, and as part of that, we do pro bono work in some circumstances. Ask us for more information at your interview.
