Your termination may have been for different reasons such as:

  • Temporary absence from work due to illness or injury
  • Trade union membership or participation in trade union activities
  • Non-membership of a trade union
  • Race, colour, sex, sexual preference, age physical or mental disability, martial status, family or carer’s responsibilities, pregnancy, religion among others.

If any of these apply to you, you may be able to lodge an application alleging unlawful termination. The time limitation is 21 days but the remedies and solutions differ from those under unfair dismissal.

We will draw up an application for you and lodge it in the Fair Work Commission.
